I HAVE LOST A FRIEND AND BROTHER
His name is Yuninwenkeh Oscar Kamchu. He died recently in Bamenda after a brief illness.
We had a lot in common. In fact we were age-mates with me being just two months older. So we used to regard each other as twins. We called each other by the name of “Nwennkang” which in the Bambili language, means “age mate.” We worked together and did a lot together. Our two families knew the other person very well. My family communities in Baforkum and Mbu (Baforchu) knew him very well.
Oscar was born in Bessi village in Batibo Sub Division. Oscar schooled at Presbyterian School Akou-Bambili and at CPC Bali. He retired a few years ago after having worked in the Ministry of Agriculture.
God blessed him with children of both sexes: a girl and four boys, including twins. He is survived by them and his lovely wife Vivian, referred to as “Manyi” because of the twins.
Oscar was a very lively, jovial and caring man who created a lasting impression on whoever he met.
