HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU, MY FACEBOOK FRIENDS

It`s Christmas today, the day Jesus Christ was born.

Permit me to recount a little anecdote about this great personality. It happened in one of my lessons as a French/Spanish teacher at the John Loughborough School in Haringey, North London, United Kingdom.

The school was an Adventist college and those who are accustomed to Adventist educational policies know that Adventist teachers are strongly encouraged to apply the bible practically in their lessons , when they teach. As a teacher of languages, I therefore referred to the bible when teaching aspects of French and/or Spanish such as grammar or one of the areas of activity.

Once when we were looking at the topic, “professions”, I asked the class to say in the foreign Language what was Jesus` profession. Interestingly, different students stated different professions. In fact, we came up with up to twenty one professions for Jesus alone. And all of them were correct. Some of these were: carpenter, fisherman, preacher, sailor, historian, theologian, mathematician, philosopher, politician, logician, healer, physician, architect, social worker, counselor, lawyer, teacher, magistrate, to name those. When I then asked the class whether anybody knew anyone who had even up to one tenth (ten per cent) of the number of professions Jesus had, we found that there was no one else. We therefore concluded that Jesus Christ must have been the greatest man that ever lived!

In the name of that Great Master, I wish all the five thousand (5000) friends I have on Facebook as well as those others with whom I can not become a Facebook friend because I have reached the maximum number of 5000 friends: MERRY CHRISTMAS!

It has been wonderful knowing you and interacting with you. Thanks to advances in modern technology, we have been one, although in different places. We are family!
