UPC PARTY PICKS NEW
EXECUTIVE
The Union
for the Populations of Cameroon (UPC) party has a new executive. The leaders
were elected at a meeting held recently in Yaounde. However, only some of the
posts were filled for the time being.
The Secretary
General is Prof. Basile Louka while the Chairmanship of the Steering Committee
was handed to Victor Onana. The latter is now charged with taking steps to
convene another meeting that will lead to the filling of the vacant posts.
Although the
UPC is Cameroon`s oldest political party, in recent decades, it has been split
and divided into different rivalling factions and lacking a clear sense of
direction.
